Buckhorn Canoe Company is owned and operated by Dick Persson. We are builders, restorers and
outfitters of traditional all-wood, wood-canvas canoes and small boats. Dick has extensive historical
knowledge of the old canoe companies and their boat and canoe models and is skilled in conservation
and restoration of old watercraft. He is a volunteer and a regular contributor of his expertise both as a
builder and a historian to the Canadian Canoe Museum, Wooden Canoe Heritage Association and blogs regularly about his work and related subject maters.
We have recently opened a canoe and small boat store adjacent to our workshop where you can purchase
accessories to canoes and small boats, marine paint, varnish, hardware, fasteners, repair and restoration
supplies, paddles, and oars among other things. Our merchandise can also be purchased through our online store.
You will find us in the village of Buckhorn
30 min drive north of Peterborough,
Ontario, Canada.
Please stop in for a visit.
We are open 9 am to 5 pm Tuesday to
Friday and Saturdays 9 am to 3 pm.
